Antiques Roadshow Comes to Wells

The BBC team with Fiona Bruce will be filming an edition of the famous show in the Bishop's Palace, Wells on Thursday 18th September.

Local people are being urged to dig out their old treasures from attics and garages and take them along to the Bishop's Palace in Wells.

Huge crowds are expected but programme organisers promise that everyone who brings something along will be seen by one of the team of experts.  Naturally, only the really exciting finds will be featured in the programme.

The historic city of Wells seems a natural choice for the programme and the Bishop's Palace itself is home to many treasures. However, the thrill of discovering a hidden gem is not limited to Wells and the Antiques Roadshow.

Last week David Dickenson visited the beautiful town of Glastonbury to record an edition of his 'Real Deal' programme where people are encouraged to bring their items and pit their wits against professional antiques dealers to get the best price.

It would seem that September may bring joy to a few in the area and encourage  us all to do that spring clean we have been meaning to do all summer.
