Official Launch of Mendip Business Life

Local business leaders celebrate the launch of the new online resource for businesses as it is declared formally 'open for business'.

Aimed at local and incoming businesses the new website has been designed to help create a more enterprising and business friendly culture by promoting the  Mendip.area as a good place to live and do business.

There have been many months of collaboration between the members of the Mendip Business Leaders Group to bring the project to launch. The Leaders' group consists of representatives from business organisations as well as local business people from the Mendip area.

The website has been designed to make it easy for people to add their own content and local firms are invited to add their details to the business directory and upload forthcoming events all free of charge. During the development of the Mendip Economic Strategy businesses said:  ‘Market the market towns to themselves’ and this website is a response to that call. The website has been funded by the Mendip Strategic Partnership.

Allison Herbert, Business Development Officer at Mendip District Council, said: “It is great to see the business life website up and running and the district council is proud to be part of such a great partnership, which helps us to support the business community and encourage traders to prosper and continue to develop their businesses. We hope that lots of businesses will start using the Forum to get together and share ideas,"
