About Mendip
The district of Mendip in Somerset covers an area of just under 300 square miles and has a population of around 107,000. The main towns are Frome, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Street and Wells.
Mendip is home to around 4,750 businesses employing over 36,000 people. Mendip is a beautiful part of Somerset in the South West of England.
Here you will find England’s smallest city Wells, as well as some of the most famous landmarks in the country, Glastonbury Tor and Wells Cathedral.
The Mendip Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offer breathtaking views over the area, as well as walking, biking and caving opportunities. From the limestone summits of the Mendip plateau to the broad expanse of the Somerset Levels, the area reflects a wide variety of scenic landscapes.
A major part of Mendip’s charm for many visitors and residents is that none of the five towns are too large and each one retains its individuality.
The area offers a wide variety of business and residential properties in town and country locations. There is easy access to airports at Bristol and Exeter within less than one hour and trains travel to London via Westbury, Bath or Warminster from Frome station.
Road connections are provided by A36 to Wiltshire and the M4 to the North and A303 towards the M3 to the East. The M5 is easily accessible from Glastonbury and Street along the A39. Bath and Bristol are within 30 – 60 minutes journey from most towns in the area.
